Karen has lived in the same Youngstown neighborhood her whole life, and in her current home for over 40 years. She purchased the home to be near her parents who lived in the home behind hers. She is the matriarch of the neighborhood!
After an ice storm, her roof sustained critical structural damage and collapsed, causing water to leak into her front room and dining room. Her insurance company would not help and she was feeling very hopeless. YNDC was able to repair the damage and help her get a new roof. “I am so grateful to YNDC that they could come and help with my roof.”
Karen loves her home, and her neighborhood and plans to stay there for the rest of her life. Now that her roof is repaired, she feels so much relief. “I am able to be a little more joyful, I am not as concerned. I’m looking forward to living the rest of my life here.” This new roof was made possible by the Carol M. Peterson Housing Fund of The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati.
