Wednesday afternoon, two Youngstown policemen volunteered to install 74 outdoor LED, solar-powered lights on houses along South Avenue, Marmion Avenue and other neighborhoods on the south side.
It's part of the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation's community-based crime reduction program.
"Well, the more lighting you have, the better. Obviously, it's less of an opportunity for people to hide or less of an opportunity for them to look at a house and say, 'Hey, this is a target.'
