A few home-based bakers are bringing some sweet treats to Glenwood Avenue with a new storefront opening this winter.

City council approved $377,500 in American Rescue Plan spending Wednesday and expects to vote on considerably more projects using the federal funds Dec. 21, its last meeting of the year.

City council members will consider requests to spend nearly $300,000 in American Rescue Plan funds for a contract with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to better position city sites for potential development, and to provide funds toward Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp.’s redevelopment of the Foster Theater on the South Side.
